The Jack Abramoff-funded, Tom DeLay mounted "Project for a Permanent Republican
Majority", gerrymander project was the party's attempt to free itself from the
strictures of having to pay attention to what the voters want. They now believe
they have succeeded and they're playing it that way to the bust. They think that
the gerrymanders plus other dirty tricks and vote-diluting tactics will deliver us all
into their authoritarian hands permanently, they are hoping there will be no escape
and they will rule us forever. Everyone, regardless of party affiliation needs to
repudiate that by voting to immediately break the pin.
