It appears that as long as the narrative can be limited to discussions of ownership of weapons the listener will not equate that with these kinds of events. The trouble with America is that people like to have their "thinking" done for them so that as long as the discussion is limited to "agreeable" while they're listening they do not have to bother to think of the negatives that are not being presented, no matter how terrible they are.
