I have been to Las Vegas and I've been to Trump's casinos in Atlantic City.
One thing you learn in Vegas about how to run a Casino is, you've got
to get the people in; the rest is history, because if they come, you'll make
money, the house always wins. Trump couldn't get the people in because
he couldn't bring himself to be generous with the complimentary pen.
He stiffed people with drinks and lacked the food specials that Casinos
use to bring people in. In the Mint Casino Hotel (long gone) in Las Vegas,
they would run 39-cent steak and eggs breakfasts. If you stood around
Caesars Palace it was hard to stay sober even if you weren't playing,
just walking through, they'd be offering you free drinks. We went to
a supermarket, and grocery prices were so astonishingly low we had
to investigate. We learned that the row upon row of slot machines
in the front of the store were the money makers, the groceries were
just used to draw people in, hahaha. Trump's stinginess is what did
his Casino in. He couldn't figure it out. Some businessman, eh?
Eventually, all his casinos attracted was a monosyllabic type of
degenerate gamblers, the kind of people high rollers run from.
