Across the world, the U.S. is no longer considered to be a serious actor
on the world stage, and so countries that might have been held in check
by thinking that U.S. intervention of some effective kind might be in the
offing with possibly undesirable consequences, now sees that America
no longer has the intellect needed to intervene, nor the ability to even detect
problems. In short, the "constable astride the globe" has become a joke.
