Its time to reexamine the purposes of the statutes of limitations. Clearly assaulted
children who will take decades to learn how to defend themselves at law are barred
by these limitation statutes from obtaining justice simply because their aggressors
knew it would take years for their victims to come forward. I don't think these laws
were designed to allow criminals to go free beyond punishment.
