I'm pretty sure Liz is consulting with her father Dick, her position sounds very much like what I'd expect Dick Cheney to take, even though I don't much like Dick Cheney I've never gotten the impression that he's not strictly a "died in the wool" constitutionalist. Perhaps Pelosi should consider inviting former Republican Statesmen/women emeritus to sit on the committee and avoid these disgraceful sycophants.
