No person working a full time job should be paid so little they qualify for public assistance. Since such assistance amounts to a government subsidy of the businesses.
Not to mention that McConnell is jumping the gun, just because there are "hopeful signs" doesn't meant that people, deep in debt and behind in their rent are going to go back to jobs, many of which are no longer there, and will suddenly begin spending money like the pandemic never happened. Republicans have always exhibited poor economic, cultural and social thinking.
