What's to argue? He's a liar and everyone knows it. Everyone also knows that his staff are liars like him. Few if any, in his administration show any integrity or strength of character, buckling under to a know liar even when his offers cannot possibly be true. This kind of thing is the very foundation of a dictatorship.
