U.S. House of Representative Luis V. Gutierrez of
Illinois’ Fourth District in the heart of Chicago spoke on the floor of
the House earlier this week about recent comments by GOP presidential
candidate Mitt Romney.
Rep.
Gutierrez said that the nation’s 50 million Latinos, most of whom are
citizens and eligible voters, is a lot of people, “especially if you
want to offend each and every one of us. But to Mitt Romney’s credit —
he’s trying.”
