Magical thinking is
the attribution of causal relationships between actions and events
which cannot be justified by reason and observation. In a statement
attributed to Fiorina, it appears Fiorina may be afflicted with this
type of “magical” thinking.
The Daily Mail reports
that Carly Fiorina said that McCain lost the White House because Sarah
Palin refused to meet with Fiorina and allow her time to teach Palin
about economic issues. There are so many things wrong with this type of
magical thinking, that it’s hard to know where to start.
1. Fiorina presumes that she is an expert on economic issues. That
is magical thinking when the time she spent as the CEO of Hewlet Packard
resulted in a decline of the stock by 50%. The only thing Fiorina
seems to know about economic issues is how to lose money. READ MORE
There was a time when Sarah Palin seemed to be interested in young Black men.
Whether if was a bad experience with Glen Rice, jealousy over her loss to Maryline Blackburn
in the 1984 Miss Alaska beauty pageant, or the 2008 loss to the First
African American candidate for the Presidency, it seems Sarah Palin has
established herself as one of the leading racists of our time.
Most celebrities and politicians are worried about being politically
correct, even if their underlying views are racist. Not Sarah. She was quoted as saying,
“Looks like Sambo beat the bitch.”
People who know Sarah have reported that she regularly refers to
Alaska’s Aborginal people as “Arctic Arabs,” “mukluks” and “fucking

HBO's "Game Change" presents Palin as simply a bumbling Tina
Fey -- and misses the real story of the 2008 campaign.

HBO’s “Game Change,” airing this Saturday, is not actually an adaption of the book “Game Change,” by Mark Halperin and
John Heilemann. It is “Sarah Palin Goes Rogue,” the movie, with a
couple of anecdotes borrowed from the notoriously gossipy account of the
2008 election as a whole. (Or, arguably,it’s an adaptation of Scott Conroy and Shushannah Walshe’s “Sarah From Alaska.”)
That
is sort of a shame. The Palin thing is the most heavily over-covered
story line of the entire 2008 campaign, so focusing on it might be
totally logical from a marketing perspective, but it’s unfortunate from
an artistic one. The film re-creates various moments of YouTube campaign
ephemera very well — remember when that old white lady called Obama an
Arab and McCain looked uncomfortable? When it takes us behind closed
doors, it’s to witness scenes any moderately close observer of the
election and its aftermath could’ve dreamed up him- or herself. It might
have been fun to see a TV movie about the Democratic primary fight; the
personality clashes of the disastrous Clinton campaign would have made
for entertaining television, and Mark Penn is surely a creature crying
out for a grotesque Emmy-winning portrayal by, say, Paul Giamatti. READ MORE

Thing is, foreign countries aren't going for this. Instead they tax corporations and give the public job security, free college education, cradle to grave healthcare, vacations and unemployment pay. In fact, as illustrated below in the Lush Bimbo, video, some corps are actually getting U.S. refunds, and yet they're still not hiring. So, while we're funding corporate tax breaks, letting them walk away with billions in profits that they give to their top executive in the form of bonuses and multimillion dollar pay outs, instead of distributing them as dividends. Our college grads are burdened with enourmous debt loads, while most of our population can't even go to college. Stuck in low paying jobs, with no heath coverage, no vacations, they're doomed to a life of flipping burgers, mopping floors and emptying often steamy bedpans. All while paying taxes, to make up for what the rich aren't being required to pay. Some country eh?
