Debate: What explains the generational divide over Trump’s Iran war?

Blah, blah, blah... Weapons of Mass Destruction yak, yak,

yakity yak yak!!! But...

Obama made a deal, using the leverage of our having

allies and experts with scientific knowledge to craft some

very strong precautions in a way that also prevented

nuclear proliferation around the globe. 

What we have now, instead, is a war that, with the world

watching, has many state actors realizing that they, too, need

nuclear weapons to prevent being invaded by the use of specious

excuses of some phantom need to prevent a nuclear attack.

There's a reason that of the 9 nations with nuclear weapons

Only one has ever used them in war. That's because from

nuclear tests, we've learned that nuclear weapons don't only

strike the target they are aimed at, because the fallout travels

to harm other unintended people.

Iraq had no nuclear weapons, nor any capacity or desire to

develop any.  The push for the invasion was built on easily

disprovable lies that were claimed to be beyond question.

So we've been here before, so stop lying to us we know

that the people talking to us have a history of telling us

threadbare lies and cannot, therefore, be trusted at all.

Expecting proven liars to be believed is a sure sign

of insanity.  We fell for that once; let's not bother

to do it again. 

Trump has alienated our former allies, and so now,

Without expert negotiators or scientists, Trump is

incapable of obtaining the safeguards and deals

that Obama obtained and Trump destroyed. So

All of this bloviating is futile and a rage against

nothing.  This "War" is merely another expression

of hatred, just as Trump's racism and Hegseth's

Christian nationalism/white supremacy has been

revealed to us by their words and deeds. 

Not one more dollar, not one more soul should

be wasted on this exercise of hatred and futility.

Our economy is in shambles, and the coming 

Tsunami of disaster is going to soon hit home

in force with a fury not seen in centuries.  We

should not have our military and naval forces

deployed overseas on a fool's errand when this

happens.
