"Soft Power" is an equation that is built on the "carrot." I can help you
or the "stick," Or I can help someone else. Those two components
of the equation are usually enough to move the calculations of
of the interested parties, in the desired direction. It is a good
thing because it doesn't require a contest of strength or wills
be engaged because today's complex, intertwined world it is
often difficult to define what "grounds the battlefield" actually
exist on.
Will it be physical ground, or, like with Iran, will it entail
a powerful economic component that cannot easily be
dismissed, discounted, or controled.
