The GOP lives on its ability to get people to hate one another, but the thing
that gets me is how they manage to make religion —professed to be about
love, peace, forgiveness, understanding, equality and fairness—into
the cornerstone for building hatred against one another. Do deeply religious
people really want to live in a world of hate?
