Jack Smith is no ordinary prosecutor, he cut his teeth on prosecuting wealthy
well-connected dictators and other foreign miscreants who were no pushovers
in the world courts. Besides the "traps" wouldn't be there if Trump
had not laid the groundwork for them himself. Trump keeps citing
defenses in public that he has no hope of ever using because he knows
he is not a credible witness and thus cannot take the stand himself, which
is exactly what he would need to do if he were to even raise those claimed
defenses. He's a low-grade con man who would not have survived without
his racist father's money.
