It's bad enough that women are at risk of death just by the act of attempting
natural childbirth. Now doctors are put at risk of violating legislative decrees
which interfere with their medical opinion and put women's lives and fertility at
further and unnecessary risk. This is absolutely abominable that there should
exist legislation that interferes with and/or delays the timely performance of
medically needed treatment, required to either save a woman's life, preserve
her fertility and/or subject her to devastating psychological trauma by forcing
her and her doctor to wait to see if she can survive until some
arbitrary legal condition is met. Not to mention that if it was some legislators
wife or daughter at issue they'd quickly remove to another state on that
account.
