A nuclear response to a conventional warfare humiliation doesn't make any sense because without the ability to follow up with a conventional assault or defense a nuclear provocation will only aggravate the world and probably provoke a massive invasion of Russia to wipe it off the face of the earth by an uncontrollably angry world. Russia is proving to the world that its military isn't capable of defending Russia against practically any military power on earth almost no matter how small. Nukes do nothing against ground invasion forces.
