Only under democracy can anyone cite a "Constitutional Right" as a defense against a government challenge. You cannot defend yourself In Xi's China or Putin's Russia by pointing to some law. Putin and Xi are the law, the only law and soon Republicans will fix it so that Trump or someone like him will be the law here.
