Aha, just figured out why Trump hired Nunes, he needs Nunes to get Finra and/or the SEC to allow him to take his company public. The financial regulators know that Trump's plan is to sell as much stock to the public as fast as is humanly possible, then walk away with the dough. So they're refusing to let him do it by holding him to the letter and spirit of the laws and regulations on the books. Devon Nunes however might be able to shake loose an approval Trump needs through his connections, knowledge, or favors due him by people in these offices.
I think the effort will fail because no one wants to have this disaster on their resume.
