Trump will learn that his pardons are a double-edged sword, because, as he issues pardons, he strips the pardonee of his 5th amendment rights. Since they cannot incriminate themselves, because of the pardon, they must answer the questions just as if they had been given immunity. Worse, if they are caught lying that will be a new charge for which they can then be prosecuted.
