Nightly News Full Broadcast (June 6th)

The fact that there were two policemen on top of George Floyd, means that, under the circumstances, the murder was premeditated.  The facts show that George Floyd was checked for a pulse and when no pulse was detected, that indicates that Floyd was in medical crisis.

At that point in time, the police have to decide between two possible actaions:

  1. Continue to maintain their attack and disregard Floyd's medical condition and crasis, which is known to be irremeidalbly lethal,
  2. Or:
Cease their attack and mount an immediate attempt to reverse or ameliorate Floyd's lethal craise before it beame permanently irreversible.
These policemen chose to continue what they knew would be a lethal attack, past the point of where it had become a medical crisis.  That decision carried with it the implication that it was intended that a death would occur and not one of those present, despite their mission to "protect and serve", did nothing; abandoned their mission and refused to do their duty.  That implies that these policemen were agreed, in advance, not to prevent the loss of life, if it happened at the hands of one of their number, no matter whether it was necessary or not.

Thus it derives that the situation that allowed this murder to happen was preplanned.  All that was required was the opportunity to put the plan into effect.  The premeditation was not directed at any particular person, making it difficult to discern that it was actually premeditated, because ususally a premeditated murder has a preselected victim as a target.

But, a preselected victim is not the absolutely necessary element of a premeditated murder, Although it is unusual for a premeditated murder to be directed at a random victim who has the unfortunate circumstance to fall into the hands of those intending to  commit it, that does not preclude that it can happen.  For example, a group of klansmen might have the intention to kill some blackman, but have no specific target selected when they set out.  When they do come upon a victim and murder him, they have committed a premeditated murder.
