Mitch McConnell Earns 'Moscow Mitch' Moniker Blocking Security Bills | R...

I tried watching the Senate FAA hearings on the Boeing 737, but the memory of the disrespect and contempt of Congress, kept interfering with me forming any image of how the hearings might repair the loss of confidence those accidents sparked.  Since, I'm pretty sure, these hearings are about restoring faith and trust that Boeing is being overseen by diligent regulators -- something that would go a long way towards getting the public back trusting these expensive aircraft and American engineering -- the memory of the contempt and disrespect Barr and others have shown Congress, kept bleeding over and made the FAA hearings seem little more than an empty charade.  I certainly don't get the feeling that Congress has the will to use any "teeth", if any, that it has left.  That makes the feeling that Congressional hearings are little more than an empty charade, a performance with little meaning.

Congress can and must correct this image and get back to the days when, agency heads, when called before Congress to answer for their performance, actually can be seen to be sweating and carefully choosing their words.  As opposed to laughing at the loss of 2 trillion dollars, like at the hearings  after it was announced sometime in 2001.
