Nice lawyering you two but you are forgetting that Trump made a claim
that the election result was fraudulent and that therefore his supporters
should go to the Capitol, knowing that some of them were carrying
firearms and had a command center called "the war room" at the Willard
Hotel, and that the purpose was to create confusion sufficient to throw
the election to the House to vote. Worse yet there was an alternate
plan to offer fake electors who had been created at great cost and effort
in furtherance of the plan to change the results of the election all of which
was based on a claim that had not a single shred of evidence to support it.
That is an insurrection, not a riot, which is aimless mayhem, and certainly
not a demonstration since police were physically beaten to overcome their
attempt to maintain lawful order in defense of Congressional proceedures.
