This report and Maddow's analysis is a level red report. Some of us know how serious our lack of a strong response will be read as surrender. A cyber attack is still a "war"

This is exactly the kind of problems the Russians have been working to create. While American media kept the nations focus on the sensational stories, Russian intelligence was studying our political system to identify it's strengths and it's weaknesses. Corruption is always a weakness. Where we used to have politicians who valued our statecraft and who were selfless statesmen/women themselves, we are now hostage to a plethora of political hacks and sycophants who, in their turn are appointing "know nothings" and incompetents to high offices. Because of this, no matter how hard we try, it will be nearly impossible to restore the rule of law to the land. The effort will be constantly undermined by incompetents making highly polarizing mistakes and errors if not intentions.

Our lack of a competent department of state and a flailing group of intelligence agencies, under stress and untrusted, means that our foreign policy cannot be rescued. As we depend upon resources from around the world, expect those resources to be increasingly denied us or supplied at increasing costs.

We are faced with a mess and our nation is too divided to mount the concerted effort needed to restore it. "Moscow Mitch" is an example of Russia's work. In short, we've got some seriously troubling times ahead.
