trouble with military spending is it cannot be
easily stopped and can erase the entire treasury
as has happened with governments before.
The worst part of this is that both Russia and China
have interests at stake here.

The biggest problem will be the fact that the oil won't start
flowing in significant quantities until the repairs are finished,
meaning sometime after Trump has left office. I doubt many
corporate boards will be happy to accept such risks. That will
mean that Trump will have to fund the corporate involvement,
plus an additional profit. Of course, if there is too much life
loss in the offing, it's doubtful there will be many employees
willing to risk their own involvement. This can push the
time of profitability back even further, increasing the risk too
far beyond anything even approaching what is acceptable.

A USPS postmark is an official mark that shows where and when mail was accepted by the Postal Service. It used to include the date when it was dropped it in a mailbox or at the post office counter. However, the new rule will reflect the postmark with the date your envelope is first processed by an automated USPS sorting machine, potentially days after it was dropped off — not the actual drop-off date.
As I see it, this is a legal problem for the courts to correct.
The intent of the law was to establish the first moment when
the official system gained possession of the mail-in ballot, and
that intent relied on the practice of the post office to mark
mail it received at the post office. Now that the post office
does not want to mark the earliest moment it gains control
of the ballot, it needs to be ordered to do so by the courts to
bring this in line with the law's intent.
