The Genes We Lost Along the Way

Well, it looks a lot like genetic therapies are not so far away anymore, many
diseases will be cured by genetic manipulations.  Trouble to look out for
is that lawmakers might just be persuaded to protect pharmaceutical
companies profits by preventing cures of high-profit diseases, eh?
I have this theory that in the course of gestation extinct genes first turn on
then off, if so, then we may learn how and why they do this.  That would
allow for recovery or even creation of genes to correct many conditions
or even regenerate limbs or grow new organs.
