Hmmm, what if those missing text messages were actually about calls being made to other agencies for backup at the Capitol because of the significant danger presented by those known to be armed? Is it unreasonable to think that texts about calls for backup going unanswered would be more than a little embarrassing to someone in a high place? Perhaps even evidence of criminal behavior? There are, of course, a host of reasons why we can imagine those text messages are going missing. Let's hope the tech people are able to recover them.

Jan. 6 Committee Puts Building Blocks In Place On Trump’s Criminal Exposure
Now that I've been given time to think about it, I realize that the Secret Service also had to know that there were weapons-carrying people intent on supporting Trump, since Trump wanted the metal detectors removed because, as he says, the armed mob was not interested in harming him. So, wouldn't the Secret Service be texting that information to the security agents at the Capitol? The mob was clearly disorderly and dangerous, so might the S.S. also try to communicate the danger to their own loved ones? If messages between agents from White House to Capitol were missing that might be very strange in itself. Hardly a wonder that a Trump loyalist appointed secret service leader would want any such messages to remain beyond examination.

'Trump is above the law,' SE Cupp says in response to AG's remark
There will be investigations, discussions, analysis, debate and eventually the statute of limitations will run out before they finally decide to indict him. On the first day in court, his defense attorneys will cite the statute of limitation and demand the dismissal of all charges the judge will have no choice but to agree and the media will blame everyone in sight while Trump runs for office and becomes President For Life. Oh, and then he pardons Bernie Madoff.

Bystander took down Greenwood mall shooter in 15 seconds
Here it is noteworthy that Dodge City did not rely on good guys with guns to keep the peace, only the surrender of all firearms while within the city limits did the trick. In this instance in Greenwood, the good guy with the gun is very fortunate that the gunplay ended before the police arrived. But, how long will it be before there are two or more good guys with guns (ggwg) at the scene of an active shooter event? If the police arrive before the gun battle ends, what are the odds that they will not also kill the ggwg's? How can we be sure that the ggwg's are also able to identify each other and not fire upon themselves? Finally, if police who are trained can mistakenly take unarmed people as deadly threats and kill them before it can be ascertained that they were harmless, how can we be sure that ggwg's won't make such mistakes?

This insane court doesn't seem to realize that the rulings they make impact the views of other laws. For example,, if you allow torture or duress to be used in interrogations you are implying that fifth amendment protections are not absolute. Now every instance of police questionings must now be subjected to testing to clarify what is allowed from what is not allowed. However, until that clarification is obtained, much suffering will have to be endured by many since the change in view of the rules leaves everyone free to apply their own interpretations. Thus these decisions the court is making is creating chaos since no one can any longer predict or interpret the law with any hope of success. The nation has been broken loose from its moorings.
