The worst-case scenario is that if Biden should cave, and then
the Republicans go ahead and refuse to lift the limit anyway.
The Republicans don't know or care about what it takes to
run a government, if they did they would know that the
anticipation of a default has the world already on the run.
The world's economies will not allow themselves
to be continuously put on tenterhooks over a recurring battle
of finances. They've already seen this coming so what is really
happening is that America's position in the world is in steady
decline and Repubs are accelerating it. The damage will
manifest later and if it is impossible to deal with, we may
become a version of Afghanistan lite.
We're on our way to having a government incapable of managing
rule my consent of the governed and thus devolving to rule by force.
