In my opinion both Putin and Xi smell what they believe is rot in the American system and they're applying the pressures they believe will amplify our weaknesses. I observe that they are in a position to deliver an "October Surprise" to influence our elections where they want very badly to see Trump back in the White House. They could make their pullbacks appear to be some kind of Trump heroism on Trump's part making him a shoo-in.
