This is a case of "Dictators Dilemma" writ large. a smart leader
who acquires total power and wants to keep it for an appreciable
time realizes that they need expert advice, from tried and true
experts with proven expertise. Those who don't seek such will
not last very long at the helm. History continues to bear this out..
My advice to him would have been: "Pay the breakup fee and
be done with this mess, you are not a politician and you have
not studied Constitutional law, you won't be able to make a go
of this without some serious efforts. Let it go!:
