Noam Chomsky weighs in on Afghanistan

Hopefully, by now we've become hip to the creation of puppet/paper governments and "paycheck" armies as the means by which American's people are convinced that success is, if not already won, it's close at hand if only the military is given just a little more time.  Puppet/paper governments only last until it's time to put their lives on the line at which point there's no ingrained ideological resolve to do anything at all.  The "paycheck" army gets populated by men/women who need a paycheck because their installed government is the only game in town. They are there for the paychecks, not in support of any beliefs.  They mouth whatever they are given to say by those in command however when it comes time to risk their lives in battle, the paycheck isn't worth fighting for so they lay down their arms and/or run away.  The military-industrial complex has overplayed its hand and now it's being aced by a world populace that is not so easily fooled anymore.
