What one needs to know is why there is a separation of church and state.
The reason for it is because there are many religions, and you can't just
choose between them by size or number of followers. The soils of Europe
were soaked in blood because they could not resolve the problem of which
religion was "the one true religion", despite each denomination being ready
to kill and die for their faith.
