What the world is seeing is a recurring kerfuffle over the U.S.
debt ceiling and they must now be taking measures to uncouple
themselves from the possible train wreck that would ensue if
we were to miss a step. What that means is that although we
won't experience a catastrophic decline immediately, but that
even if we do not default, we're going to expect a long term
"cooling off" of the world on the American system. McCarthy
and McConnell are guilty of exposing our economy and our
democracy to maximum harms that will continue to plague us
for decades.
