The Republican party is responsible for vetting their candidates
because like the unqualified Herschel Walker bad candidate is
a reflection on the kinds of people the party promotes to further
the wishes of the electorate. If the party isn't offering qualified
candidates then voters would be well advised to stay away from
that party in the voting booth, since bad candidate make poorly
performing officials and that places all Constitutional/lawful norms
at risk, there is no surerer way to destroy all rights, privileges and
protections of law than to elect anti-American candidates.
