Putin can't win because sustaining the very operations of his invasion has become so increasingly complex that he cannot afford to miss even one more step before things collapse entirely. Putin has not just troubles on the field of combat but he now has growing troubles at home. His offers to stop on a condition or two signals that he is on the cusp of losing big time and each day things will only get worse. I expect that by the end of the week we will see his forces begin to withdraw while he issues a welter of excuses.
