How Wealth Inequality Spiraled Out of Control | Robert Reich

Wow, you want to talk about an "entitlement class"? Politicians scream and rant about how poor people are growing wealthy on entitlement programs.  Well, what about those who are growing fabulously wealthy by having their already over-bloated hoardings explode without resistance.  This while people are being kicked out of their homes by hedge funds and other investment entities costing them everything including their peace of mind and the psychological well-being of their siblings. America is becoming a "trap" rather than a free country.  Hardly a wonder then that politicians have become capable of saying one thing one minute then refuting themselves in the next minute.  It's called fascism!

Why is it that the very wealthy are unconcerned that the country that allows them to grow and enjoy immense wealth, allows their fellow citizens and their children to live without a home, a roof over their heads or a meal beneath their belts and without an education to hopefully change the dynamics of extreme poverty?  The wealthy should be the ones demanding that the government do something about this situation.  Instead they seem intent upon "cutting open the goose" to get all the golden eggs it lays at once.  They should be trying, instead, to preserve the system they have so much enjoyed else, under maximum stress, it is sure to change in ways uncertain.
