Jeffrey Epstein's Multiple Prosecutions & The Fall of Alex Acosta (Real ...

It occurs to  me that, if Acosta was really concerned about Epstein getting away and he knew that his evidence was too weak.  While that paints a picture that "any conviction is better than none", it still doesn't explain Acosta going overboard.  Rather than give Epstein any form of immunity for the crimes and suspected crimes,  as well as trying to absolve and protect his "fellow travelers unknwn", you'd be much better off just letting him go and get back to work to develop a stronger case.  Instead Acosta went further than just obtaining a plea, he sought to wall off future prosecutions as well.

If there was good evidence that there were other people involved, who needed to be investigate or charged, then that should have been pursued and not blocked by the feeble and illegal language Acosta then deployed.  Now Epstein is dead and we have an Attorney General who has told Congress and the nation boldfaced lies.  Thus we cannot have any confidence in anything this administration, or it's adherents offer.  We are in a terrible pickle and the Russians are making very great use of this worldwide.  They are also using this -- failure of trustworthiness in our own institutions -- to make further inroads towards destroying our Democratic Republic.
