Austerity? GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney feels the need to expand his $12 million mansion in La Jolla, California, even though it was only purchased three years ago. Here is a photo of that mansion.
A campaign official told the Washington Postthat Romney will “enlarge their two-bedroom home because with five married sons and 16 grandchildren it is inadequate for their needs. Construction will not begin until the permits have been obtained and the campaign is finished.”
Oh, so Romney recognizes it's gauche to completely bulldoze a $12 million home and rebuild another, bigger one on top of it while he's fundraising and preaching about the economy. Thanks for holding off, Mitt. But once the campaign is over, let's get crazy! Perhaps he should bury some of the money underneath the foundation of the new home, just because he can.
