Bill Clinton's "impeachment" was fashioned around marital infidelity. From the various Republican transgressions we've seen over the years, marital infidelity isn't a reason to swallow hard or loosen your tie. As far as the "perjury" it has, for centuries, been expected that men would not tell and thereby preserve a woman's honor. Clinton's "perjury" was the time honored lie that men are traditionally expected to make.

The defenses of Trump being made are exactly what a Communist dictator is hoping for. Why our Republican party is interested in raising issues that are keeping Vladimir Putin happy is beyond me, but they are going at it full throttle. I never envisioned that Fox News would be a communist front organization trying to plunge America into becoming a soviet style dictatorship were "truth" is whatever the party says it is. But that's what they're doing folks. I certainly hope we have some Americans left to help keep our republic.

Germany had this problem in spades, consider that their "leader" actually had political chops, he actually had created jobs and actually did get public works done. Thus there was little anyone could do, no matter they saw the loss of the nations republic looming. They got steamrolled by a populous wave. We could suffer the same fate here and it certainly is beginning to look like it. Trump is keeping his base despite having done nothing at all for the betterment of the nation, no ecological plans, no infrastructure, no economic initiatives, no nothing just talk talk talk about himself and 14,000 and growing lies.
What would a Trump "President for life" look like? Well, it wasn't Hitler who came up with the idea of ovens, all he did was nurse a deep hatred of non-aryans, his minions came up with an d implemented the ideas for the genocide. Later, after 50 million people were dead, they all claimed they had no idea of what was going on. So whatever Trump's minions do, no one will ever admit they could have seen it coming.

"Make their case in court"??? How can they be expected to even think of a court case when an official government notice appears to say that doctors will no longer be able to render treatments? I have to wonder that, if he was on a respirator himself and he was told that because his payment was overdue, his electricity would be cut off. The major issue that underlies all of these matters is, whether or not we will continue to be a nation ruled by laws, because if not we will not and cannot have a free country. Without a body of laws to live and rule by, there can be no freedom at all.

Again, many Republicans are lawyers themselves, thus they know that Trump has no power to prevent anyone from answering a congressional subpoena, thus this all amounts to Trump trying to obstruct justice by pretending he has the right to stop them from testifying. So, why aren't they acting like the patriot's they swear they are and uphold the Constitution? Instead they knowingly aid law breaking.

Wow, just wow because the Republicans want us to think that they knew nothing of all this and/or had no reason to have any opinion about it. Not one call to the W.H. to see what the position on the attack would be? No questions about why the meeting with Putin would not be canceled, or why it would still be on after the W.H. decided to cancel but Putin decided it would still be on. Republicans had no concerns about all of this apparent pandering to Putin? The real "trick" to keep businesses up and running and not simply drained of their value and tossed aside like an old shoe, is the high personal tax rate needs to be restored for the highest earners, back to 1949 levels. Otherwise it's just too easy for management to simply empty the treasury by paying themselves huge compensation and they do so regardless of company performance. Because with the low tax rates they are not barred from taking 100 million dollar payday's.
With a very high tax rate inplace that prevents them from just taking a huge salary they have to take stock and/or options which not be of much value if the company doesn't perform. As things stand now, if the corp is not doing well, the CEO gets the board to up managements compensation, then they simply raid the company treasury of cash. If the company hasn't much cash, no problem just take out some loans then use that money to pay themselves and let the company be damned. Can't do that if tax on draws of more than 1 million are taxed at 99%. Then the only way to get big bucks out of the corp is to make it perform better so your stock and options go up in value.
