In Texas Welfare Office, Mother Denied Food Stamps Shoots Her Two Kids Before Killing Herself

The sad state of our economy appears to have taken at least one more life. On Monday, a Texas welfare office became the scene of an ugly suicide, where a mother shot her two children before successfully killing herself, officials told the Huffington Post. Her kids, aged 10 and 12, were in critical condition Tuesday.

The 38-year-old woman, who had recently move to Zanesville, Ohio, first applied for -- and was denied -- food stamps in July. Texas Department of Health and Human Services spokeswoman Stephanie Goodman told the Huffington Post the office denied the woman food stamps because she did not turn in enough information, but she did not know what that information entailed.
