Back in those days people worthy of note were also believed to be
of high moral character, Trump was not some "stranger off the streets",
but a celebrity and person worthy of note who the nation was supposed
to believe was of such high moral character that he could be trusted.
So Mr. Shapiro's narrative fails in that fundamental respect. He
wasn't even alive when those social mores were in vogue so it's
easy to realize he understands so little of what he's talking about,
like the lady who wrote the book about CRT who went viral when
it was shown on video she had no idea what CRT was.
