Putin and Xi are expecting Republicans to win in the next election and push America into an authoritarian condition. Their military moves are designed to be in a position to move quickly because even though authoritarian governments live on having an opponent capable of mobilizing public opinion, newly turned governments are a great source of internal turmoil and that is the opportunity/opening they are counting on to take Ukraine and Taiwan.
