This Morning’s Top Headlines – June 25 | Morning News NOW
My guess is Sinkhole. Florida is a sandbar, millions of years ago it was a dinosaur graveyard, they kept it building from southern Georgia with their bones trapping sand, somehow a cap of limestone formed and sand was deposited over that. Now, today, with ocean acidification scientists say, the limestone is being eroded by rising acidified seawater. So, sinkholes open with unpredictable frequency state-wide. Ground-penetrating radar surveys might provide some margin of safety but it will require an expensive statewide program I doubt the Republican legislature and Governor will want to mount, most especially in light of their penchant for deregulation which such a survey portends to amplify. But that's my guess.
