Mike Pence's former chief of staff speaks with CNN

Trump wasn't being given poor advice, once he got it in his head that he could claim cheating deprived him of his win, there would be no changing his mind.  

His next move was to fashion claims so incendiary that nothing further would be needed to incite riot. 

For example. suppose you tell a neighbor that his daughter was raped and murdered by "that man", but there isn't enough evidence for the police to help out.  

Now, your claims are so incendiary that you can now say: "I want you to walk peacefully over to his house and be a gentleman about it, shake his hand and be totally civil, he lives over there".  Okay, now you've used all the lawful language and have said nothing to encourage violence.  If that man commits a murder, can you claim you had nothing to do to incite it?  Of course not, it was the lie that was sufficient to cause all of the problems.
