The joke is, if the Judges were to agree with Trump, they would be putting an end to the independence of their own branch of government, since a sovereign President would be a King and there is no one in government who is beyond the powers of a King, less a dictator, to control. In other words, Trump puts the judiciary in a position where they in effect would have to, "slit their own throats" to rule in his favor. I sincerely doubt they would do that, considering how secure their life long stature is.
