The powers of the congress to oversee the executive must not be interfered with by the courts. In this instant case, the President would ask the courts to allow him to conceal any crimes, breaches of law and/or foreign financial entanglements that his tax/financial documents might reveal. This President is unusual in the fact that he has a worldwide financial empire, such that he might easily make decisions, for personal, financial and/or political gain based on his personal financial entanglements. In fact, those same financial entanglements might well be used to compromise the President in various ways that have never presented before, since no previous President has had a global financial empire. It is for these expressed reasons that the powers of Congress to hold the President to answer, is of paramount importance to the nations health and well being. We must have faith and be able to trust the President and without proper and thorough vetting that cannot be obtained. The task of oversight over the President is meant to be a real and substantial burden to the President, just as any official review of any citizen is a burden. It is of prime importance that the Congress have the power to burden the President with matters that go to the heart of the nations ability to trust in the chief executive and that the threat of any wide ranging investigation tends to constrain an executive so that any damage to the nation is avoided, rather than having to mount the almost impossible tasks of rectifying any such damage after it is done.
