Fox News' "Serious News Guy" Chris Wallace is definitely not playing for Team Trump. On two separate occasions on Friday, Wallace rejected the opportunity to be a Trump-fluffer, instead speaking some truth to their viewers, truth they desperately need to hear.

First, Wallace called Trump's defenders "deeply misleading." Then, in this clip, he goes off on Trump himself for his characterization of the whistle-blower and the White House employees who told him about Trump's wrongdoing as "spies."

Wallace was not having it, interrupting host Sandra Smith.

"That is very deeply troubling," he said. "These are people inside an administration saying something is going on that they were very deeply troubled by."

"There's a whistleblower process that allows people inside the government to report on activities that they were concerned by. They didn't go to the NY Times -- go to MSNBC, they told this to a person who filed a formal whistleblower complaint which stayed secret for over a month," he stressed.

Clearly irritated, he said, "To call them spies and to suggest perhaps we should deal with them, the way we have dealt with other people committing treason and which is in effect, to execute them, really seems to strike to the very heart of what whistle-blowers are all about." READ MORE

Fox News reportedly “thanked” news anchor Shepard Smith for standing up for the network’s own senior judicial analyst against smears from Tucker Carlson and a pro-Trump guest by threatening to fire Smith if he does it again.

A must-read article by Gabriel Sherman in Vanity Fair describes how the looming impeachment of Donald Trump has reportedly sent Fox News into “management bedlam.” The disarray has been apparent for a while. We have seen Trump-worshipers such as Sean Hannity ignore Fox’s reporting in favor of pro-Trump propaganda. Also, there have been some high-profile departures by those who have blasted the network for its “partisan misinformation” and calling it a “cult of Trump”

Nowhere was that disarray more apparent than in this week’s feud between Smith and Carlson. As I explained in a previous post, Carlson sided with pro-Trump lawyer Joseph diGenova, who has a history of unprofessional behavior, when he called Fox’s own senior judicial analyst “a fool” for opining that Trump had committed a crime in trying to strong arm Ukraine into digging up dirt for his personal political benefit. The next day, after Smith called the smear “repugnant” and went on to cite numerous respected attorneys who agree with Napolitano, Carlson, of all people, accused Smith of being a dishonest opinion host. Whistleblower's Safety A Concern As Trump Makes Veiled Threats | Rachel ...

Unfortunately, if the House allows that ignorance of the law is a defense, then it becomes important to ensure that one does not know the laws governing their performance.  Obviously that would be a terrible moment for lawmaking in general.

Whistleblower: President Donald Trump’s Own Staff Thought He Abused Offi...

This is a display of the very height of incompetence in the Presidential Office.  The very goal Trump was seeking; that he could somehow defeat Joe Biden, was already within his grasp, only he and his incompetent staff did not and was not able to recognize it.  The mere fact that Joe Biden's son was able to obtain a job, as a board member, that payed him 600k/year, was enough to seriously cripple his campaign.  Instead, Trump's staff let Trump continue to think that nothing less than charging his opponent with a crime, was the only way he could win.  Not even paying attention to the fact that there were more opponents as good or better to worry about.

So, only after the damage is done are they able to recognize that something improper and highly inappropriate and likely criminal had taken place.  Then they engaged in a criminal conspiracy to try to cover up the crime.  How fitting it is that they are all now facing jail time.

Pelosi Torches Trump White House's Ukraine Call Response: This Is A Cove...

What a news day, eh?  Joe Biden's 600 thousand dollar son is probably going to sink his candidacy, which only goes to show just how incompetent Trumps own staff is, right? They allowed Trump to effectively slit his political wrists to achieve something that they could have done with just a few well chosen words.
Worse yet, there appears to be more stuff covered up that could bring even more of Trumps staff into the 9th circle of criminality.  Now we have real reason to fear what Trump may have said in those secret meetings with Putin.

Cuomo to Trump attorney: Quid pro quo isn't necessary for impeachment

Obama Diplomat Opposes Trump WH Releasing Ukraine Call Notes | The Beat ...

No one is calling for the release of all Presidential phone calls, what they're getting is a transcript released by the President to make it appear that there's nothing to the complaint.  If any Presidential phone calls are at risk, they would only be the ones that cause a complaint to be generated.  But, we already know that legislators always take whatever view of language serves them self. If it's imprecise or precision, it only matters which view serves their present notions. Unfortunately for the grifters, we the people know which view to take regardless.

White House Notes Show Trump Asked The Ukraine To 'Look Into' Biden's So...

Right, against a backdrop of desperately needed aid being mysteriously held up, by an American President who has shown greater fealty to Putin than to his own intelligence agency.  Even worse is, we're getting White House spin on the complaint where, by law, they have no standing to even comment less even read the complaint.  So, we're being asked to believe the word of an administration that has repeatedly shown nothing but contempt for the laws, contempt for congress and contempt for the people.

All we need to know is that, the IG received a complaint, decided that it was credible enough within the meaning of the law and that it should have been given to congress without any administration involvement.  The mere fact that that did not happen is a violation of the law and should be severely punished.

White House Release Shows Trump Asked Ukraine To 'Look Into' Investigati...

It is because expected funds were being withheld at the time of this conversation, that Trump's pro Putin stance would give a general impression that Trump wants something done.  Anyone who has watched American news would know that, as far as Trump and the Republican Party is concerned, facts don't matter much at all, so just do what they ask no matter and let the chips fall where they may.  Because if not, there will be penalties.

No, no... The aid was held up because the moon was in the 7th house and Jupiter was aligned with Mars! LOL
But the President of the Ukraine would have great reason to be concerned with his aid being held up, in light of Trump's obvious pro-Putin leanings.

Exactly what you'd expect to happen to a President who cannot hire the best people.  His legal staff is restricted to compliant toadies who haven't the sense to be careful to preserve their own credibility.  No one, with any sense, would risk working for this White House, after seeing what Trump was about early on.  Now our biggest worry is those judges this criminal President has put on the benches.

Trump Withholds Aid From Ukraine, Claims He Did Not Ask For Quid Pro Quo...

Let's see; you're waiting for your direct deposit paycheck to show up and it's a day over due, when suddenly your boss calls and, knowing how much you hate to drive, he asks you to drive to D.C. and attend a meeting.  You're not a politician where you have to be very sensitive to affairs, you're just working a job and yet you know what the implication of your late paycheck portends.  As Michael Cohen says, Trump doesn't say what he wants, he suggests it in ways where you pick up the meaning.

Tapper to Mnuchin: What if Obama had done this?

He certainly has a lot to be so certain about for a guy who wasn't on the call himself, eh?
Besides the fact that this is not a case where some reporter raised a question about a phone call the President made, it's about a qualified intelligence skilled person, whose complaint was considered justified, credible and in urgent need of Congressional committee review.  We don't need all this cringeworthy rhetoric from Trump Toady Munchkin.

John King ELIZABETH WARREN TAKES THE LEAD!

Apparently people have had enough of imprecise speech and Biden's errors are beginning to eviscerate his support.  Also, as a "school Marm" Warren sounds like she will not entertain any guff in office.  We expect that she will be very stern when it comes to people making spacious offers and "slap them down hard". That's what people are craving in this age of the Trumpty Dumpty.
