Climate change: what to expect and are there really two sides? | Ask Bob
I've read that up where the satellites are the density used to be one molecule per cubic yard. My guess is that our space programs have thickend this to thousands of molecules per cubic yard two hundred miles up or so. What effect that has on the weather I can't begin to guess, but I can guess that a significant change in the norms has to mean that there are significant changes taking place; the mere fact that I can't detect them notwithstanding.

The reason universal healthcare makes good dollars and sense is, everyone forgets that private insurers earn a tremendous profit. The government doesn't earn profits so the costs are lower. Another bad thing about private medicine is that doctors compete for patients. That means that even doctors with marginal skills are enticing people to come, same with institutions. Hospitals with less than state of the art treatments are jealously guarding their patients from institutions that specialize in the art of need. When you are ill, getting better is the only thing that matters, not money, not love, not loyalty; in short, you are not able to think about anything clearly when you are suffering. If the people who you must rely upon for care are dancing to some private/profit driven agenda, well, we all know what we think about that kind of thing. So it is for these reasons and more, that many western nations have opted for universal healthcare, they don't believe there should be a financially motivated institution overseeing any individuals healthcare.

Republicans block any action to correct and/or save America from a man who is known to be a serial sexual offender, put in office with the help of a foreign power whom he now shows fealty to. Even while he publicly admits to the actions that are obstruction of justice. And nearly half the nation wants to have America become a dictatorship, believing that will stop abortions, end gay marriage and bring back slavery. Will the tree of liberty ever become thirsty? Or will America simply quietly slip beneath the waves of totalitarianism?

If Trump was really patriotic he would not have claimed fake bone spurs to avoid taking his place in the war he supported in south east Asia. He chickened out so that someone else had to take his place and that would be the guy behind him in the line. Wonder what happened to that guy?

Phil Mudd on Trump's July 4th speech: Let me be subtle. I hated it.
A guy who faked bone spurs to get out of serving in war time, should not be using the military as a prop to aggrandize/popularize himself at all. People who serve in the military are not playing games, they are pledging their very lives to the task of doing for their country. A man who faked a medical problem to avoid doing his share of service, should not be pretending that he respects military service, we all know that he does not. He is thinking that the poor fools should be sent to their deaths so that he can wear their honors with empty pomp and fake circumstance.

Gee, back in the 50's and 60's onward, we used to marvel how Hitler was able to fool the German people so easily, we were sure there was something wrong with them missing the "clues" that a tragedy was in the making by way of a wrongfully selected leader. Kamala is "prosecuting" a case for America's severe injury, against "the guy who drove drunk and slammed into America on a bike!" So, while America lays in the ICU on life support, the accused is out on bail and sitting in the Oval Office. There is not a bit of wonder why "the driver" refuses to let anyone see his past driving records. The Honorable Mrs. Harris knows how to deal with this kind of problem and get the culprit jailed. Were Mitch McConnell against this sort of thing he could take measures to stop Trump in his tracks. Thus they have severely crippled the nation which will have to survive the next decade, with one party claiming an unfair advantage over the other, without any possibility of a check or balance.
It is, for these reasons, a vote for a Republican at just about any level of government, city, state or national office, is a vote to dissolve the U.S. Constitution.

Have astronomers discovered an alien megastructure?
There's also the matter of 1,500 light years, which means that if they're a thousand years ahead of us we won't out know about it for 500 more years. Think about it, we have less than 200 years since we first began broadcasting, they won't hear us for another 1,400 years or so. But if they're building structures that can block 20% of a stars output, they have to be using "free energy". we have just started with quantum mechanics so I'll guess that in another 1,500 years, if we survive, we'll probably doing that too.

Okay, I promised an answer on this and now here it is, just remember you heard it here first.
Remember there was that cloud of electrons that obscured everything after the big bang? It was known as the "dark period or age or something", well, when the negatrons formed they annihilated each other, but some protons captured electrons and became neutrons. So, while matter and anti-matter were annihilating each other, the neutrons, with no charge, continued to survive and accumulate. When the Universe had cooled enough, these neutrons then became unstable and emitted an electron and presto, matter and no antimatter. Tell this to any physicist and most will not argue, they'll simply be astounded that they didn't think of it first. Those who do argue against it will lose to their peers.
Ah, there's a simpler way to say all of this:
Matter and Anti-matter formed at the same time as neutrons were also forming.
While matter and anti-matter were annihilating each other, because of their opposite electrical charges (opposites attract) neutrons, on the other hand, do not get involved with this so they accumulate. After the universe finally finished there were all these neutrons leftover and they, as they do even today, decayed by emitting an electron, thus making hydrogen. Of course, neutrons are very sticky when it comes to contacting protons so you get deuterium, tritium (one and two neutrons sticking to a proton), and that gives rise to helium when the third neutron decays leaving two protons and two neutrons.
Why neutrons always emit electrons rather than positrons is a question that will have to be left to the quantum mechanics researchers.

I guess that my having grown up in another time, I've lost touch with what Americans are about today, Mitch McConnell is supported strongly by Senate members who appear to agree that Trump can ignore Congress and rule without any oversight. The Senate has agreed to hold Trump above the law and to ensure that only Republican votes count. The U.S.S.C. seems to agree and has ended "one man one vote".
Either people who live in rural districts, are not watching what they are doing, or they are agreed that it's time for America to change into a dictatorship. I saw that happen in Germany many decades ago, they liked a man and kept voting for him, until when they discovered they didn't like him anymore, it was too late to do anything about him. Oh well, it will still take a few years before any dictator has enough power to start sending people he doesn't like to the grave.
