If the don't call witnesses and hold a real trial, the Chief Justice may walk out and styme the process, they cannot go forward with this fake trial without his approval and consent. I'm sure he knows what a real trial is and he should not consent to be a part of any non-trial trial that pretends to be a trial but is in reality a mere summary dismissal of the impeachment articles.
