I get the feeling that Trump will use the rest of the campaign to build a case for an insanity plea when he faces impeachment.  That would allow him to leave office on grounds more honorable than being thrown out and it will also help keep him out of jail.  He can then blame his administrations population for his ills, by claiming they sought to take advantage of him and gave him bad advice. Trump is always the victim.
