Beware Slippery Soap! LOL

Trump is the only person of either party who would give Putin any wins. Only a transactional idiot who doesn't realize that actions have implications that must be paid attention to in the political world, would, therefore be stupid enough to allow Putin to work his game.

This isn't the first time Trump's people were overheard while discussing Presidential business in public places. It just goes to show the lack of competent people in the President's employ. He's proven himself to be so daffy, such a loose cannon without impulse control, that no capable person would want to risk getting involved with him or his affairs. So he's now surrounded by clowns pretending to be professional practitioners. This disastrous circus must end! The nation will be paying for this for years and Republicans should have recognized this impending disaster and joined in the effort to end it early on, instead of trying to gaslight 300 million people with abject stupidity and lies.

While one person in the restaurant told us of the call; what if: someone else in the restaurant heard that call too, then decided they could curry favor with Erdogan or Putin by giving them a call? The point is, that information would have been valuable to a lot of foreign heads of state and no one knows who else was within earshot. There could have been FSB or ISI agents enjoying a meal, eh?

It occurs to me that Erdogan might have learned about what Trump wanted so badly that he stepped in to offer his services to help Trump in some way, if only Trump would pull out of Syria. Trump would, of course, go for that because the only thing Trump cares about is himself, not the American Troops ("I only honor those who don't get captured (paraphrased of course"), nor American foreign policy objectives and/or the stature needed to carry it out.

Beware: The Republican strategy to protect Trump is to gaslight America. The real reason they stick with Trump is that he has "eaten the parties soul in small bites". They are complicite and share enough blame for this horrible man, that they fear his collapse portends their own.

The Republicans are taking advantage of the gaps being left by the need to follow protocols and procedures to fill the space with their version of "gaslighting" America, even while they cover up and ignore the terrible damage Trump has done to Americas ability to prosecute democratic/republic foreign policy. Now the world has to wonder if they can afford to trust America, knowing how we deserted the Kurds after they gave their lives for us and our policies and forced them to turn to Russia to save themselves from Turkey.

Knowing how transactional Trump is, I have to suspect that Turkey put something for Trump in it to get him to abandon the Kurds. I'm sure we will discover it and hopefully we still have enough of ourselves left to be horrified by it.

It's also going to take a machete to the trope that the Ukrainians didn't know why the aid was being held up.

These hearings won't focus on how many lives Trump's terrible policy blunders have cost military men and women of our allies who Congress appropriated money to defend.
